Watch Deepika Padukone's dance off in Bajirao Mastani

Who can forget the famous song Dola Re from Devdas and Aishwarya Rai and Madhuri's dance-off. Although, Paro and Chandramukhi never came face-to-face in Saratchandra Chatterjee's Devdas but director Sanjay Leela Bhansali made the two characters meet in his film.

Now in his upcoming film Bajirao Mastani, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is all set to show a dance off between his Mastani Deepika Padukone and Kashibai Priyanka Chopra. Kashirao and Mastani, the two women whom the Maratha warrior Peshwa Baji Rao loved, will be given scenes of confrontation and a dramatic song-and-dance sequence.

With her lithe figure, actor Deepika Padukone is perfectly cast as a pro ballerina in a new Parachute Advansed ad film release online this week. Her look for the film conceptualized by agency McCann, was created by Vogue's Anaita Shroff Adajania in her capacity as a costume stylist and Padukone's go-to make-up artist Anil Chinappa who created a striking winged eyeliner for the actor, lending her a Marilyn Monroe-esque look.

"All in all, one of my best looking campaigns!" Padukone tells Vogue.

The film is shot in monochrome and chronicles the character's multi-faceted life -- balancing on a car roof, tiptoeing at a ballet class and showing off lustrous black hair courtesy Serena Radaelli, a hairstylist from Los Angeles responsible Pantene poster girls Gisele Bündchen, Zooey Deschanel and Eva Mendes.

"Very rarely do we see a black and white commercial," the actor says. "This has been one of my most special experiences."

Back to the ballet (a pity there wasn't more of it) Padukone trained with ballet choreographer Fernando Aguilera who has a ballet school and company in Delhi. This is what he had to say about training Deepika for this mini-role.

"My experience teaching Deepika was fabulous. I was very surprised as she never rehearsed before the shoot day, which is when we met. She learned everything on the spot; we were representing the swan and she copied my arm movement perfectly. I found her very graceful and a natural at doing the ballet."

Padukone has promised to join Aguilera's class as soon as she gets the time.
